Lexi is having a baby! She feels well-prepared because she’s enrolled in hospital indemnity insurance, employer-paid group term life insurance, and both short-term and long-term disability insurance. She’s grateful for the guidance Transamerica will provide at every step during her claims process. 

1. Lexi’s due date is approaching

Lexi logs on to her employee absence management portal to start her claim.

2. Case specialist takes it from here

A case specialist notifies Lexi’s employer of her expected leave date, then contacts Lexi’s provider to request necessary medical forms.

3. During her maternity leave

A case specialist ensures Lexi gets her weekly short-term disability insurance payments for her three-month leave. Lexi also files a claim with her hospital indemnity policy to help cover additional out-of-pocket expenses.

4. Extended disability
