Aegon Transamerica Foundation
Serving our communities
Transamerica is committed to helping people live their best lives by making our communities better. That’s why we established the Aegon Transamerica Foundation, a nonprofit, private foundation that provides local and national grants, and an employee matching gift program.

What we support
The Aegon Transamerica Foundation focuses on financial and social empowerment to create more inclusive communities where people can live longer, more fulfilling lives. The nonprofit organizations we support must:
- Encourage self-reliance and empower people socially by enhancing their adaptability, skills and capabilities
- Empower people financially by building financial awareness and knowledge and providing relevant tools
- Be active in a market where we operate
- Include opportunities for employees and stakeholders to contribute (time, effort, knowledge)
- Be a distinct and innovative initiative
“I’m proud of the impact we have on society through our charitable contributions, relief efforts, and support of organizations to help build stronger, more resilient communities.”
How we help
The Foundation’s primary goal is to have a positive impact on society.
Local and national grants
The Foundation evaluates requests for grants based on the location of a charitable program or organization, as well as its focus.
Matching gift program
This program for Transamerica employees is designed to amplify the Foundation’s impact and extend the reach of employee giving, providing funding to support nonprofits.
United Way
Transamerica conducts an annual United Way campaign to ensure every person in every community has access to resources to improve education, financial stability, and health.

Project spotlight
We believe our responsibility to help others extends beyond our corporate walls. Here are some of the ways we’re striving to bring that ideal to life in our communities.
Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement’s mission is helping students build financial literacy. We’re proud to be part of this work through Foundation support of three local chapters: Rocky Mountain, Eastern Iowa, and Central Maryland, and are the presenting sponsor of two Junior Achievement Finance Parks in the Denver area.
Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF)
To help the surviving children of Special Operations Forces, the Foundation sponsored the “Join Forces Texas Style” event in Dallas. The primary goal of the event and the SOWF is to provide full financial assistance for college.
March of Dimes
Championing the health and well-being of all moms and babies is the mission of March of Dimes. The Foundation has been the premier sponsor for their annual charity event in Washington, D.C.
Women Lead Change
This two-day conference offered professional development and networking opportunities to help support and advance women. The Foundation was a platinum sponsor of the event.
Emergency relief
Transamerica employees are also members of their communities who want to lend a hand to those in need. That’s why the Foundation seeks to help people affected by natural disasters or emergencies.
Maui Wildfires
To help those impacted by the devastating wildfires, the Foundation issued an emergency $100,000 grant to the Red Cross and matched employee donations, generating an additional $20,192.
Hurricane Ian
The Foundation's emergency grant to the American Red Cross helped provide food, shelter, and comfort for people facing the devastation left behind by Hurricane Ian.
