Transamerica CEO Will Fuller is this year’s recipient of the Legacy of Hope Award from Hope & Heroes, a charity that funds life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorder treatment and research. Fuller was honored during Hope & Heroes’ annual charitable gala on November 15, 2023, in New York City.

Hope & Heroes has highlighted individual leaders’ charitable impact through its Legacy of Hope Award since 2016. Honorees are chosen from a group of carefully selected candidates for their distinct professional contributions and philanthropic endeavors. Fuller is the first representative from the life insurance and retirement industry to receive this recognition.

“Hope & Heroes has chosen Will Fuller as the 2023 Legacy of Hope Award recipient in recognition of his outstanding leadership in the financial services industry,” said Bob Bomersbach, executive director of Hope & Heroes. “He was enthusiastically selected as an individual who pursues excellence in all that he does and as a visionary business innovator.”

Founded in 1996 with the belief that all kids deserve to lead healthy lives and reach their fullest potential, Hope & Heroes is committed to ensuring every child with cancer or a blood disorder has access to the best possible care. Approximately 600 physicians, researchers, and healthcare providers across seven pediatric cancer centers in the New York Tri-State area benefit from Hope & Heroes’ support.

Hope & Heroes emphasizes helping those who need it most. The nonprofit’s financial contributions go beyond direct treatment to include services not always covered by insurance, such as educational support and psychosocial counseling, integrative therapies, art programming, and survivor wellness, as well as support for families. Funding from Hope & Heroes helps to treat roughly 1,000 newly diagnosed pediatric cancer patients each year.

“I am inspired by the Hope & Heroes team, the profound impact they deliver daily for children and their families— particularly their service for the underserved—and by the opportunity to help advance their life-giving work,” Fuller said. “I am grateful that Transamerica and Aegon can be a force for good by supporting Hope & Heroes’ cause.”
