With two decades of experience in financial services, including financial analysis, investor relations, strategy, treasury, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions, Chris Giovanni drives strategies that accelerate Transamerica’s competitive advantage for the benefit of customers, employees, and key external stakeholders — helping people live their best lives.
As chief strategy and development officer, Chris is responsible for Transamerica’s strategic planning, transformation office, competitive intelligence, and corporate development. He serves as a member of Transamerica’s Executive Committee, and works closely with parent company, Aegon, to explore and execute organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
Along with other members of Transamerica’s senior leadership team, Chris is playing a key role in Transamerica’s strategic and financial transformation into America’s leading middle market life insurance and retirement company.
Prior to joining Transamerica in 2021, Chris was corporate treasurer and head of strategic planning and investor relations for Lincoln Financial Group. Institutional Investor named him as a “Best IR Professional” in the insurance industry on multiple occasions. Earlier in his career, he was the senior equity research insurance analyst at Goldman Sachs.
A native of Pennsylvania, Chris earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Loyola University Maryland, Sellinger School of Business and Management, and previously held the following securities registrations: Series 7, 63, 86, and 87.
