Transamerica Champions Retirement Plan Education with PSCA 2024 Signature Awards
Transamerica is proud to announce that its retirement plan sponsor clients were recently honored with multiple prestigious awards from the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA). Each year, top plan sponsors and their retirement plan providers earn PSCA’s “Signature Awards” for outstanding achievements in retirement plan education. This year’s winning campaigns highlight the innovative communication tactics that Transamerica and its plan sponsor clients use to educate retirement plan participants.
“Successful education campaigns help plan sponsors successfully engage employees,” says Will Hansen, PSCA’s executive director. “The winning campaigns in PSCA’s annual signature award competition are always ones that find a way to creatively connect with employees to drive engagement and results, either through messaging aligned with, and often mirroring, the company’s brand, or through the use of emerging technologies. The winning campaigns from Transamerica this year did both, and with great results.”
Wendy Daniels, head of marketing and customer experience for Savings & Investments at Transamerica notes that effective communication is a cornerstone of successful retirement planning. "By leveraging innovative and personalized approaches, we empower employees to take meaningful steps toward their financial futures,” Daniels said. “These awards are a testament to the collaborative efforts of Transamerica and our clients in creating impactful educational programs."
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), a key U.S. Department of Energy contractor in the industrial complex dedicated to environmental cleanup, launched a winning and captivating campaign to raise awareness about Transamerica’s retirement readiness forecasting tool, OnTrack®, and inspire participants to positively change their retirement outlook. SRNS’s “Plant the Seeds to Grow Your Retirement” campaign's innovative use of animated GIFs and text messaging created a unique and personal connection and earned it a first-place tie (with Trek Bicycle Corporation) in the Innovation in Promoting Participation category. SRNS also won second place in the Provider Innovation category.
Trek Bicycle Corporation, a Wisconsin-based bicycle and cycling products manufacturer, and Transamerica collaborated on an initiative to educate employees about retirement benefits. Their "Benefits Fair Engagement" campaign, which tied for first place in the Innovation in Promoting Participation category, featured custom marketing materials and bicycle-shaped stress balls, aligning with Trek's brand, and resonating with employees.
Transamerica and Trek also collaborated on the "Who Do You Wheelie Love?" campaign, which won third place in the Provider Innovation category. The campaign, launched in conjunction with the Valentine's Day holiday, used valentine themes to promote beneficiary designation and leveraged Trek's internal language and brand imagery to effectively engage employees.
Danone, a leading global food and beverage company, and Transamerica won second place in the Emphasizing Diversity and Inclusion category for creating a "Digital Slide Initiative” for plan participants, consisting of digital slides displayed on LCD monitors across locations, with QR codes linking employees to resources. These slides, in English and Spanish, promoted inclusivity and proactive financial planning.
"Award-winning communications drive employee participation by fostering engagement, trust and understanding. When organizations receive recognition for their communication strategies, they effectively connect with their employees and inspire action,” Daniels said. "This recognition not only validates the organization's efforts but also reinforces the credibility of the messaging, which can lead to increased employee participation, improved morale and a stronger sense of connection and alignment with organizational goals."
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our clients and thank them for their commitment to excellence in communications.
