Transamerica Celebrates Recognition as Top Company for Executive Women and Disability Equality

Transamerica is proud to announce its recognition on multiple prestigious lists this year, affirming its commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace. The company has been named to Seramount’s 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women and 2024 100 Best Companies lists. Also, Transamerica earned a top score on the Disability Equality Index, marking a significant achievement in its commitment to disability inclusion.

Top 80 Companies for Executive Women

Transamerica’s inclusion in Seramount’s 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women reflects its ongoing efforts to champion women’s advancement in the workplace. This recognition highlights the company’s success in fostering leadership development for women, with a focus on succession planning, gender pay equity, and supportive work programs.

“Our Top Companies for Executive Women set an example of a supportive company culture that nurtures successful women,” said Subha V. Barry, president of Seramount.

100 Best Companies

In July 2024, Transamerica was also named to Seramount’s 2024 100 Best Companies list, recognizing its exceptional support for working parents. This honor celebrates companies that provide comprehensive benefits and create an inclusive environment for families. The list also highlights companies that go above and beyond in supporting mental health and well-being.

“Our 100 Best Companies have been setting the standard on what is considered an inclusive workplace for parents and caregivers for over 40 years,” said Barry. “Thanks to their dedication, benefits that were considered progressive are now considered the norm.”

Top Scoring Company on the Disability Equality Index

This year, Transamerica achieved a new milestone by being named a top-scoring company on the Disability Equality Index. The Disability Equality Index is the leading benchmarking tool for assessing disability inclusion in the workplace, evaluating aspects such as culture and leadership, access, and employment practices. Transamerica’s high score highlights its significant efforts to create an inclusive environment for employees with disabilities.

"On the 10th anniversary of the Disability Equality Index, we’re extremely proud of the 542 national and international companies that are taking a proactive role in leading progress towards disability inclusion, setting a benchmark for others to follow,” said Jill Houghton, president and CEO of Disability:IN. “Their dedication to fostering inclusive workplaces not only attracts top talent but also drives innovation and creates sustainable performance in today's global market.”

Employee Resource Groups

Transamerica proudly sponsors Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), each driven by employees and formed around shared interests or common characteristics of diversity. Together, they are an integral part of the company’s supportive workplace culture.

Transamerica’s ERGs include the Women’s Impact Network, which focuses on advancing women’s careers through mentorship and professional growth, and the Family Connections Network, which helps employees balance work and family responsibilities. Additionally, the Dimensions ERG focuses on supporting employees with disabilities and their families, offering valuable resources and networking opportunities to enhance their workplace experience.

ERGs, which are open to all employees, host regular events to highlight members’ interests and issues and allow members to provide insight and feedback to the company’s leaders.

“At Transamerica, we are deeply committed to supporting our employees across all facets of their lives,” said Holly Waters, chief people officer at Transamerica. “Our inclusion on these esteemed lists and our high score on the Disability Equality Index are testaments to our efforts to create a workplace where everyone can thrive. These recognitions reflect our commitment to nurturing talent, fostering career growth, and ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported.”
