Reflecting on Aegon Transamerica Foundation's 2024 Achievements
The Aegon Transamerica Foundation’s new annual report and local impact reports for 2024 highlight the nonprofit’s enduring dedication to serving the communities where Transamerica employees live and work. The Foundation has supported initiatives that empower individuals and families for over 30 years, and 2024 was no exception, with over $8 million donated to over 800 vital organizations.
“I am incredibly proud to look back on a year filled with meaningful contributions,” said Maurice Perkins, chair of the Aegon Transamerica Foundation. “These efforts reflect our firm commitment to being a force for good and we are excited to continue our work in 2025 and beyond.”
Sparking Brighter Futures Through Education
In 2024, the Foundation focused on boosting educational opportunities, making a big difference in the lives of students. In addition to continuing its steadfast support for Junior Achievement’s financial literacy programs, the Foundation teamed up with the University of Northern Iowa to support students in Cedar Rapids. It also helped establish a scholarship program at Morgan State University for aspiring actuaries, opening doors and creating pathways to success.
Standing Strong Together in Tough Times
When disaster struck, the Foundation didn't hesitate to lend a helping hand. Working with organizations like Direct Relief and the American Red Cross, it provided crucial support to communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Foundation also supported emergency response efforts in the Upper Chesapeake Bay region following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, making a real impact when it mattered most.
Caring for Health and Wellness
Improving health and wellbeing, especially for kids and families in need, remained a top priority for the Foundation in 2024. By supporting organizations like Hope & Heroes and March of Dimes, it showed its commitment to making a difference in the lives of families facing health challenges.
Empowering Employees to Give Back
Throughout the year, Aegon and Transamerica employees rolled up their sleeves and gave back to their communities in a big way. From teaching financial literacy to packing meals for children and supporting veterans, employees showed their dedication to making their communities stronger and more resilient. And with the Foundation's matching gift program, employee contributions to worthy causes were doubled, amplifying their impact.
The Aegon Transamerica Foundation's 2024 Annual Report and Local Impact Reports highlight a year of significant achievements, reflecting the Foundation's ongoing commitment to advancing community wellbeing and creating positive change.
