Cycling for a Healthier Future: Transamerica and the American Heart Association Join Forces
Transamerica proudly served as the signature sponsor of the Cedar Rapids CycleNation event, a well-recognized event of the American Heart Association’s Heart Challenge program.
Alisabeth Von Presley, a celebrated American song contest contestant, served as the event emcee while our employees raised donations by riding in-place bicycles for the charity. Transamerica's commitment to serving the community stood out prominently, with more than 250 of our Iowa employees actively participating in the event. This display of unity resulted in Transamerica exceeding its fundraising goal and being the company with the largest number of participants.
The funds raised from the Cedar Rapids CycleNation event were dedicated to research, advocacy, CPR training, and promoting better health. The ultimate aim is to support the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal and reduce barriers to healthcare access and quality.
The American Heart Association, in the last five years, has funded over $12.9 million dollars on new research studies in Iowa, including 67 studies at the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. Such steadfast dedication to health and wellbeing resonates with Transamerica’s mission to help people live their best lives.
We are proud to have been part of this event and look forward to continuing our support for the American Heart Association and the Cedar Rapids community in the future.
