Vendor Hipaa data incident impacting some Transamerica payments
Change Healthcare (CHC), owned by UnitedHealth Group’s Optum unit, is a vendor Transamerica uses to process certain claims payments. CHC has experienced a cyberattack and has disconnected its systems to prevent further impact. Transamerica’s systems have not been impacted by this event. However, payments to providers for some of our HIPAA-covered products have been delayed because of CHC’s decision to disconnect its systems.
We are working on alternative methods to process claims in a secure manner. Providers should continue to submit claims via their standard process. If you have questions regarding a claim, please call (888) 272-9272.
