For more than 25 years, Bonnie has provided solutions that ensure the financial strength of our capital position. She has provided knowledge and insight in acquisitions and divestitures. Bonnie is passionate about providing financial stability to assure Transamerica will be there in the next 100 years for its policyholders, making a difference in people’s lives.

Bonnie was appointed president of Transamerica’s Financial Assets division in October 2022 and leads the team responsible for optimizing Transamerica’s in force and closed business blocks. She is a member of the Transamerica Management Board, and a board member at each of Transamerica’s subsidiary insurance companies. Additionally, she manages the ongoing relationship of divestitures through capital and reinsurance transactions with Wilton Re and SCOR and is responsible for reinsurance relations across all Transamerica companies and affiliates.

Since joining the company in 2000, Bonnie has served on the M&A core team for the sales of Transamerica Reinsurance in 2011 and Transamerica Canada in 2015, and the acquisition of JCPenney Life Insurance in 2001. She served as interim chief accounting officer at Transamerica Reinsurance after Aegon’s Transamerica acquisition and has led the mergers of nine U.S. life entities. She was also at the forefront of implementing Solvency II and market-consistent reporting at Transamerica.

Most recently, Bonnie served as head of Capital & Tax Strategy, reporting to Transamerica’s chief financial officer, where she led the Capital Strategy and Reinsurance teams overseeing capital generation, dividends, and reinsurance relations across all Transamerica companies and affiliates. Prior to joining Transamerica, she worked at Ernst & Young and was CFO of National Travelers Life.

Bonnie earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is a certified public accountant (inactive). Bonnie and her husband have raised their four children in Cedar Rapids and enjoy keeping up with their many activities.
