Transamerica Life (Bermuda) Ltd. Launches New 30-Year Return of Premium Term Life Insurance Product

SINGAPORE (18 JAN 2007) – Transamerica Life (Bermuda) Ltd. (TLB), a subsidiary of Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company (TOLIC), has introduced a 30-year return of premium (ROP) term life insurance policy that is available for sale in Hong Kong and Singapore. Building upon TOLIC's solid foundation of financial strength and more than 100 years of commitment to customers, the new ROP policy from TLB offers the advantages of "age-last-birthday" pricing and no policy fee.

Trendsetter^SM ROP 30 is a level-death-benefit term life insurance policy guaranteed renewable to age 95. The premiums are guaranteed level for the first 30 years and thereafter increase annually until age 95.

ROP cash values begin in year four and increase each year to 100 percent of the eligible premium at the 30th anniversary. Trendsetter ROP 30 refunds the client's eligible paid premiums (excluding substandard risk class, rider premiums, and outstanding loans and their associated accumulated interest charges) at the end of a 30-year level-premium period. If a policy is canceled after year four, the policy refunds a portion of the eligible premiums paid to date.

TLB is one of a few companies offering "age-last-birthday" pricing on ROP term. This feature creates a price advantage for clients who are within six months of their next birthday. Issue ages for all underwriting classes are from 18 to 50.

"To help clients meet their financial needs, our new ROP term life insurance policy offers several advantages over traditional term life insurance in the form of cash back or loan options," said Niju Vaswani, Managing Director, Transamerica Life Bermuda. "Trendsetter ROP 30 can provide the means for mortgage protection or business-succession planning with a cash return at the end of the level premium period."

The policy includes options for accelerated death benefit and automatic premium loans. Minimum issue amounts are US $100,000 in Hong Kong and US $400,000 in Singapore. Trendsetter ROP 30 has five underwriting classes: Preferred Plus, Preferred Nonsmoker, Preferred Smoker, Standard Nonsmoker, and Standard Smoker. Preferred Plus has a minimum face amount of US $500,000.

For an additional charge, Trendsetter ROP 30 offers the following riders: accident indemnity, conversion, and waiver of premium. The conversion rider allows the policy to be converted to a level face amount permanent life insurance policy that is made available by Transamerica Life (Bermuda) Ltd. at the time of the exchange. The rider must be exercised before the earlier of the 30th policy anniversary or the insured’s 70th birthday.
